"⌚️Check-in time: 11:30 AM (Official check-in is 3:00 PM, but since it was off-peak season, we were able to check in early, which was very accommodating). 💰Deposit: None charged. · 🌟Pros👍 1️⃣Excellent location. It's only three stops from Austin (we arrived at West Kowloon by high-speed rail). The hotel is close to the MTR station, and there's a shopping mall downstairs. You can even access two or three other malls via connected pedestrian bridges – truly a 'city of bridges'. There's also a park downstairs with children's play facilities. Several markets are nearby, offering great value, especially for fruit. 2️⃣Spacious rooms. The twin room had two 1.5-meter large beds (this was the most important reason we chose this hotel). It's family-friendly with a bathtub (bring your own disposable tub liner, and the kids can enjoy a bath!). 3️⃣The hotel also has an outdoor pool and offers free luggage storage. · ❌Cons🙅🏻♀️ 1️⃣We stayed in the low-rise building this time. The showerhead in the bathroom was fixed to the wall (as shown in picture 7), so children had to bathe in the tub. 2️⃣We requested children's amenities like a bed rail when booking, but upon check-in, there were no child-specific items, not even extra disposable slippers (only two pairs were provided). 3️⃣The room facilities are a bit dated, and the cleanliness wasn't exceptional. ⚠️Heads-up‼️ 1️⃣The hotel does not provide bottled water. You'll need to purchase it or bring your own bottle to fill up at the free water dispensers. 2️⃣No universal adapters are provided. You'll need to bring your own or buy one. 3️⃣The hairdryer's plug isn't compatible with the bathroom outlets; it can only be used with other sockets in the room. Overall, for Hong Kong, a place where space is at a premium, it offers good value for money. I might try a room in the high-rise building next time I visit Hong Kong."

"This was my first stay at a Mandarin Oriental, and I chose their historic birthplace. The hotel's location is excellent, right outside Central Station. Just find Harry Winston, and you've found the Mandarin Oriental. The standard rooms are already luxurious and elegant. Outside the window is Chater Road, bustling with luxury boutiques. The warm yellow reflections off the wooden furniture made me feel like I'd stepped back into the golden age of the last century – a beautiful reflection of economic prosperity, yet never loud or ostentatious. Even with evening turndown service, a good hotel is incredibly thoughtful. They prepared bookmarks, bedtime tea, and essential oils, and all amenities were replenished. The room also came with small items branded with the Mandarin Oriental HK logo, such as leather coasters, cable organizers, luggage stickers, and lens cleaning cloths. I asked the front desk, and they confirmed I could take them all (currently, Mandarin Oriental doesn't offer small-sized toiletries, only a small body lotion, which I loved the scent of, so I requested extra). The hotel's 'hidden drawer' is very practical. You just write your request on a piece of paper, place it in the tray in the drawer, and ring the bell. Whether it's for laundry or amenity replenishment, you don't even need to make a phone call – perfect for introverts! Every detail of my stay here was meticulously taken care of. Despite being on a busy street, the soundproofing was excellent, and the temperature and humidity were maintained at a very comfortable level, allowing me to get refreshing sleep during a busy trip. The breakfast selection is quite rich, with semi-buffet and full-buffet options available at different restaurants. For tourists, I'd recommend the full buffet as it offers a wider variety of dishes, including both hot and cold options, and you can also order à la carte desserts like pancakes. Before leaving, I bought some rose jam and a fan, officially becoming a fan of MO."

"I had a very pleasant stay at the Harbour City Plaza Hotel in Hong Kong, and several aspects stood out that I thought were especially worth highlighting: ✅ What I liked The staff were consistently friendly and supportive—every time I had a question or needed assistance, they responded promptly and with a warm attitude. The room was clean, comfortable and felt well-maintained. It gave a relaxing environment after a busy day of touring. The breakfast provided a good variety of choices and was enjoyable—a solid way to start the day without feeling rushed. The hotel was helpful with general support, whether for directions, transport queries or adjusting to my needs—this made the stay smoother and less stressful."

"For Hong Kong, the hotel's location is reasonably convenient, though the room is small with downsized furniture and dated decor. I specifically requested a room far from the elevator in my notes, but the elevator noise every 5 minutes was still quite disruptive. A major drawback: all the power outlets are European three-prong, which isn't compatible with mainland Chinese chargers. The front desk staff didn't warn me during check-in; I had to ask for an adapter later. The only positive was that the hygiene was good, and the shower had strong water pressure. As for service, Hong Kong hotels really need to learn a lot from their mainland counterparts!"

"Regal Riverside Hotel is located in Sha Tin, New Territories, with abundant public transportation options. You can get directly to Tsim Sha Tsui without transfers, and there are many minibuses that take you to Sha Tin and Tai Wai MTR stations within ten minutes, which is incredibly convenient. The hotel is surrounded by a vibrant local area with many dining options. Wellcome and Mannings supermarkets are just a five-minute walk away. The hotel's hygiene is good, and the cleaning staff provide excellent service, which is commendable. If you can get a room facing the river, you'll be able to enjoy the night view of Sha Tin city, and the riverside promenade is perfect for a leisurely evening stroll. The hotel's breakfast is a bit monotonous, with insufficient Chinese food options. I hope this can be improved. If you have enough time for breakfast, there are various restaurants just a three-minute walk from the hotel that can cater to your breakfast, lunch, and dinner needs."

"After staying at this very conveniently located Panda Hotel for close to 2 years with over 35+bookings: I am still in awe with the warm reception received at their efficient Check In and our room preferences well remembered under Mr. Eddie Chan’s leadership He made sure our 4 separate stays are perfect each time which made this trip extra wonderful. As always, the personable Concierge staff never disappoint as Managers Kenneth & Bee treat us as friends. They took care all of our needs from holding luggage while we visit China to getting rides for us timely.  Reasons why we will return again & again! We recommended Panda Hotel to many of friends and their experiences are superb equal to Four Seasons which we used to stay in Hong Kong."

"Considering how compact Hong Kong is, and in a prime location like Tsim Sha Tsui, getting such a spacious room is truly a great find! It's super convenient for getting around, with public transport options close by. Plus, there are tons of small shops and eateries in the area, offering excellent value for money. If you book in advance for a trip to Hong Kong, you can get even better rates. Highly recommended!"

"The location is excellent, right next to the MTR station. The front desk staff, a young man, was very helpful and assigned us a great room. The room size was decent, and the bedding felt clean and dry. The shower pressure was incredibly strong (something I haven't experienced in other Hong Kong hotels), like a waterfall, which was fantastic. Overall, it's very good and definitely worth returning to."

"Booked the Empire Hotel Hong Kong · Wan Chai during the 9.19 sale. First off, getting to the hotel from the airport on the A11 bus was super convenient, a direct ride. The front desk didn't proactively tell me the specific times for breakfast and afternoon tea, only the floor where they were located. I'm guessing the hotel is a bit older, as the room facilities felt a little dated. There wasn't a charging port by the bed, and there was a vent in the room that couldn't be turned off, constantly making noise. However, the breakfast and afternoon tea offerings were plentiful and refilled very promptly."

"Booked a quad room with twin beds for just under 800 RMB. The room was clean with no strange smells, and the bedding was spotless. Despite being on a high floor, the shower pressure was great. They don't provide water at the hotel, so you have to cross the pedestrian bridge to the supermarket opposite to buy some. There's a shuttle bus service, but we didn't use it. We traveled to and from Kwai Hing Station. The freshly made shrimp wontons at Yuen Kee Wonton Noodle across from Kwai Hing MTR Station were really delicious!"

Hong Kong Hotel Booking Tips

  • Busy times, book early. Christmas, New Year, Chinese New Year - hotels are quickly fully booked and prices are higher. Book 2 to 3 months in advance. June and July are relatively slow, making it easier to find deals.
  • Skip super pricey areas. Both Central and Tsim Sha Tsui are very expensive. Try Mong Kok (near MTR, markets) or Yau Ma Tei. They are ~20-30% cheaper and still very easy to reach.
  • Check MTR distance. Live within a 5-minute walk of the MTR lines (such as Tsuen Wan Line or Island Line). Save time - You can reach most attractions quickly.
  • Trip.com helps. New users get 8% off first booking. Some hotels there have "secret deals" that are cheaper than other apps. Take a look at Trip.com promo codes.

Good
GGuest UserThe room was very spacious, equipped with a kitchenette and all the necessary dinnerware. The views were open and expansive. While the location might be a bit challenging for first-time visitors to Hong Kong, the hotel offers several complimentary shuttle services to and from Central daily. The Pedder Street shuttle stop is conveniently located at the bus station near Central MTR Exit D1. There's also a stop at IFC, but I haven't personally used it, so it's best to inquire with the hotel for specific boarding points. If you prefer taking public transport, from Admiralty Station Exit B, turn right for about ten meters onto Tamar Street, then turn right again and walk twenty meters to the bus stop for the 12A. It's only two stops to the hotel, at the 'YWCA' stop. From there, walk back about twenty meters to reach the hotel. When heading back to the hotel from Central, the 12A bus is also the best option. It will first go to Admiralty Bus Terminus and stop for a few minutes while the driver takes a break. You can simply wait on the bus; there's no need to purchase another ticket. I figured this out after staying for four days, as the 12A is a short circular route specifically designed for MacDonnell Road residents. Every time I queued at Admiralty, I'd see people already on board, leading me to conclude they had traveled from Central and were waiting to go up the hill back to MacDonnell Road.

GGuest UserThe room was optimally sized , providing a comfortable balance of space and functionality. A larger smart TV was highlight, offering excellent entertainment options like you tube . The air conditioning performed very well, maintaining a consistently pleasant temperature throughout the stay. A mini fridge was available, though its capacity was limited to a few cans of beverages, which may not be sufficient for guests requiring more storage.Overall , the room was well-equipped and provided a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

XXiaobaoBeyond its good location and affordability, there's not much else to praise. The Tin Hau MTR station is closer, but the exit towards the hotel doesn't have an elevator, so it's a struggle with large luggage if you have to use the stairs. There's a McDonald's, Fairwood, and tea restaurants nearby, so breakfast outside the hotel is perfectly fine. The rooms are very old, even the executive rooms on higher floors. I only chose it for the price and convenience, so I'm not really complaining about the conditions. You can walk to Don Don Donki in about 10 minutes. Taking the tram (ding ding) is generally cheap and convenient for getting around.

MM270774****This is a legitimate hotel with beautiful surroundings. The rooms have windows, and honestly, everything else is great except for the lack of convenience stores and restaurants nearby. The price is comparable to a 7 Days Inn on the mainland, which makes it excellent value for money in Hong Kong. My advice to everyone: bring your own food; bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste as the hotel doesn't provide them for free; the hotel's check-in time is 2 PM, so if your room isn't ready before then, you'll have to wait – don't lose your temper; and some corners of the hotel could be a bit cleaner.

GGuest UserExcellent location, right next to Yau Ma Tei MTR station, and easily accessible by airport bus A21/A22. Check-in is on the 2nd floor, and they offer luggage storage. There's also a shared kitchen on the 2nd floor, complete with a fridge and microwave. Due to Hong Kong's plastic reduction policy, you'll need to bring your own toothbrush, slippers, and towel, or you can purchase them at the front desk. The room looks exactly like the pictures. They provide a key card that doubles as an elevator and room key, so security feels quite high. In the quad room, there's an en-suite bathroom with a separate shower area. While small, it's perfectly functional. Downstairs, there are many fantastic snack shops, all serving delicious food! Transportation is very convenient, and the beds are quite comfortable and clean. There's a slight creaking sound when turning over, but it's acceptable. Roommates are a bit of a lottery; this time, I ended up with night owls who came back late, showered, and organized their belongings, which really disturbed my sleep. However, that's just the nature of shared accommodation. Despite that, I'm still quite satisfied with the room itself. Nearby, the Tin Hau Temple and Yau Ma Tei Police Station are great spots to check out, both within walking distance. And definitely try Chan Kee Roasted Goose – it's absolutely delicious!

AAnonymous UserIt's really clean, and the location is easy to find. The soundproofing is good, and the room was cleaned daily. The cleaning staff even folded my pajamas, which was very thoughtful. The only minor downsides were that the sink was a bit low and the faucet didn't swivel, so splashing water while washing my face was unavoidable. Other than that, everything else was great. The rooms all come with a safe and a mini-fridge.

GGuest UserA charming guesthouse with a Hong Kong flair, it offered a lovely view, and I particularly enjoyed the small balcony. However, getting to and from the room was quite inconvenient. The elevator is located on the far side of the building, and even then, it only reaches the 7th floor, requiring guests to descend 4 flights of stairs to get to the accommodation. I opted for the staircase near the entrance instead, which still meant climbing 3 flights. Fortunately, I only had a backpack; I strongly advise anyone with heavy or multiple pieces of luggage to choose carefully. The space itself was adequate for a single person, but the wash basin was truly a nightmare. Squeezed between two load-bearing pillars, it was probably only 30cm wide, forcing you to turn sideways just to wash your hands. Washing your face was a real struggle. To make matters worse, if the tap was turned on too high, the floor drain couldn't cope and would leak water onto the floor. I'm stopping my complaints here!

GGuest UserThe hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean even though there were signs of wear and tear. Be aware that they provide daily disposable paper bath towels instead of cloth towels. No hand or face towels provided. I had to ask for hand soap to be provided to us. Hand sink shares the same area with beds. The safe battery was low by the fourth day. Bed linen was great and room keeping services were outstanding. We needed cleanup from an accident and they took care of it promptly for us.

TtriishlouiseVery nice hotel. The only issue we had was that when we first arrived, the receptionist took quite a long time to process our check-in. They could definitely improve their service in that area. We also got a room upgrade for a lower price (plus taxes), which was great. We enjoyed our stay even though it was short (from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.) since we had to transfer to another hotel afterward.
